Board of Directors

Rodney V. Anderson, PhD, serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Anderson is a clergyman, scientist, researcher, and counselor. He is a State Licensed Private Practitioner specializing in Co-Occurring Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Disorders. He holds a Doctorate in Biblical Studies and Counseling from the University of Minnesota. Undergraduate course work was completed at Houston Community College and Texas Southern University.  He resides in Webster, Texas with his wife Marinela and their two border collies Chula and Bella.

 

Theresa Renee Arriaga, RN, MSN, FNP, serves on the Board of Directors. Theresa is a native Houstonian and registered nurse who received a Masters Degree in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner from Houston Baptist University in 2004. She previously served as a traveling nurse for 12 years and currently works as a nurse practitioner in the Clinic of Dr. Henry Mentz, a prominent plastic surgeon. She has been active in Christian ministry and missions for over 20 years, serving with the Lakewood Church Beyond the Walls ministry for local and foreign missions. Since 2003, Theresa has participated in numerous medical mission trips to Mexico, Central and South America. As part of the Mentz Foundation, she will lead future mission trips to Roatan, Honduras. She assists Christian Alliance in foreign missions planning as well as support of the Port Houston outreach ministry by bringing food, clothing, over-the-counter medications and wellness instruction to local residents

 

Stephen A. Clark, serves on the Board of Directors. Steve is the owner of Clark Construction. He has spent 20 years in commercial/residential construction in Houston. Steve is a cum laude graduate of the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Steve has managed and co-managed joint development projects that include: David Weekley Homes, Weekley Family Foundation, Holcomb Properties, Compass Land Development, The Morgan Group, Fretz Construction, Emerald Homes, Houston Rockets, American Heart Assn, Boy Scouts of America, Wellsprings Inc., Brookwood School, Casa de Esperanza, Forge for Families, Small Steps Nurturing Center, Habitat for Humanity, Phoenix Outreach Youth Center and Joy School. Steve has received professional awards from the Greater Houston Builders Assn, Habitat for Humanity and the United States Congress for his dedicated service to Houston's minority communities. Steve and his wife Molly live in Clear Lake, Texas, where alongside families and friends from Clear Creek Community Church they enjoy investing their lives to make a difference in Houston and the greater bay area.

 

Robert C. Farr, BS, serves on the Board of Directors.  He is the President and Chief Operations Officer of American Security Resources Corporation.  Mr. Farr brings a 34 year diversified business background in operations leadership complete with examples of improved productivity and increased profits.  His broad experience with several Fortune 500 companies includes marketing, customer relations, administration, finance, operations, new products and worldwide vendor section/purchasing.  Mr. Farr’s experience also includes securing and structuring debt and equity funding, both domestic and international, for public and private companies.  Mr. Farr earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Mississippi State University and was a Naval Officer during the Vietnam conflict.

 

William Floyd, serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Floyd served 18 years in the Military and is currently serving.  He has worked as a surgery nurse since 1984.  He was employed offshore in Petrochemical/Industrial for ten years.  He has two farms in Arkansas.  He went to Haiti for a two week mission trip, is scheduled for another trip and is involved in creating an avenue to market Haitian works of art to generate revenue to feed Haitians.  Mr. Floyd has been involved in five hurricanes with the Military in the role of Shelter Management and Community Aid. He was born in California, raised in Arkansas, Oregon and Houston. He attends Community Church in Orange, Texas.

 

John Garcia, is a Captain in the Houston Fire Department, and also serves as a youth pastor in his local church.  He developed a program to utilize Fire Stations as Health Fair sites.  He organized the Houston CPR Task Force Bilingual mass training yearly event for the public.  He and his wife Vera are Directors of the Traveling Disciples Ministries, Inc.  They have been a collaborative ministry with Christian Alliance since 2004 in food distribution to the poor, as well as involvement in youth outreach and have led mission trips to Mexico.

 

Martha Ashley Girling, BS, MA, M.Div., is an ordained elder with the United Methodist Church. She is a native of Mississippi who has lived in Houston for over 40 years. With a background in insurance marketing and college teaching, she has been in pastoral ministry for over 20 years. Having a heart for missions, she has traveled on mission trips to Poland, Russia, Grenada, Malaysia and Mexico.

 

Pyppa Johnson, serves on the Board of Directors. She is a native Houstonian.  She has been involved with humanitarian projects throughout her life.  In November 2004, she joined the Global Missions Ministry of Windsor Village United Methodist Church and has served as a missionary in Mexico, Belize, Haiti, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.  In August 2005 she received a Master of Science in Architecture from Prairie View A&M University.  Pyppa firmly believes that one person can make a difference and plans to spend the rest of her life serving others in the mission fields as God leads.

 

Miguel Lopez serves on the Board of Directors as Vice-President of Christian Alliance.  Mr. Lopez has been involved in humanitarian and civic efforts for the last twenty-five years.   His involvement in helping his fellow man started when he was a member of the Houston based Lakewood Church in 1982.  In 2003 he organized a non-profit organization called the East Side Mobile Resources Collaborative where he served as Chairman until 2008.  Mr. Lopez has made numerous missionary trips to Mexico and Guatemala.  His personal mission to make a difference to improve a person’s life is the reason Mr. Lopez volunteers his time on a daily basis to the humanitarian and civic duties to which he is involved.

 

Tracy E. McDonald RN, BSN, MS, serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary of Christian Alliance.  Ms. McDonald has been employed by Memorial Herman Healthcare System since 1980 and she currently works at the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute – Southwest as the Clinical Manager of Cardiovascular Imaging.  Ms. McDonald earned a Masters of Science from the Texas Woman's University School of Nursing in 2007, with a major in Health Systems Management and a minor in Healthcare Administration.  In 2003 Ms. McDonald graduated from the University of Texas, School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science degree. She received her associate degree in nursing from Houston Community College in 1982.  She has participated on Mexico mission trips as a member of First United Methodist Church of Houston.

 

Robert Paige, M.Ed., serves on the Board of Directors.  Mr. Paige attended Houston Baptist University and received a Masters Degree in Education from Prairie View A & M University.  He is currently studying for his Masters in Theology.  He played Center with the Harlem Globetrotters for nine years and also played for a year in Switzerland.  He taught in the Houston ISD for 20 years. Mr. Paige provides assistance on a weekly basis in the area of food distribution and allocation and picks up donations of equipment that are utilized in the medical and dental containers that are shipped worldwide.

 

Lenny Primus, serves on the Board of Directors.  A native of Grenada, he is a retired Kellogg, Brown and Root employee with over 31 years of service.  He served as a petroleum refinery maintenance specialist.  He has been active with Builders Without Borders which provides housing to poverty stricken areas of the world.  This ministry collaborated with Christian Alliance in 2004 to send a medical clinic to Grenada.  Mr. Primus provides assistance on a weekly basis in the area of food distribution and allocation.

 

Dianne Saberniak, serves on the Board of Directors and is an office administrator.  Prior to joining Christian Alliance, she lived in the Seattle area and was a secretary for 16 years with the IAM&AW where she served on the Executive Board for the Office and Professional Employees International.  From 1978 to 1989 she worked for the Washington Education Association in their Legislative Office in Olympia and as Contract Administration Coordinator.  Dianne and her husband are members of the Biker Church in Manvel and Sons of Thunder that provides various ministries to the community.  They were also members of the Christian Motorcycle Association and Bikers for Christ.

 

Geri Shelton, serves on the Board of Directors. A native Houstonian and product of 3rd Ward public schools, Geri is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Technology. She is scribe for the Supplier Diversity Group (Institute for Supply Management). She leads adult bible studies, is certified for in-prison ministry, and is considering the pursuit of graduate studies in restorative justice. As outreach ministry team leader for Trinity East United Methodist Church (partnering with Windsor Village UMC and Christian Alliance for Humanitarian Aid) she is actively involved in the 3rd Ward Free Community Medical Screening Clinics and Alliance of Sharing (food and clothing distribution, fellowship, and evangelism) held the 2nd Saturday of each month. Since May 2006 many thousands of medical screenings, referrals, patient education, and answers to prayer requests have been provided. Geri Shelton thoroughly enjoys analyzing, negotiating, writing and improving all kinds of procurement agreements, especially those that ultimately bless struggling communities and people. For more than 20 years she has been fulfilling contract administration responsibilities for this country's 2nd largest charitable non-profit organization.

 

Frances T. Stokely serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and has also been the administrator for the last twelve years. Prior to joining Christian Alliance, Ms. Stokely was the secretary and treasurer of a publicly-held company with the responsibility of filing SEC reports, managing the company’s audits and accounting to shareholders.  From 1979 through 1990 she was employed by Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation as payroll and employee benefits administrator. Prior to joining Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation, Ms. Stokely was the administrative assistant to the president of a regional bank where her duties included preparing loan and closings documents. After her education at South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia she joined the banking firm of Stockton Whatley and Davin, in Jacksonville, Florida.  She is a member of First United Methodist Church of Houston and has served on the Mission Ministry Team as a member of the Administrative Board.

 

Jesse E. Stokely, BS, founded Christian Alliance in 1998 and has served on its Board of Directors since its inception.  Mr. Stokely has served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.  In 1964, Mr. Stokely took Business Management Systems Inc., a computerized accounting systems company, public with an S-1 Offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  He also played an integral part in the establishment of twenty individual franchise offices.  Business Management Systems, Inc. was later acquired by a Houston accounting firm.  Mr. Stokely received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Georgia.  Immediately following graduation from the University of Georgia, he was employed with Ralston Purina Company in Atlanta, Georgia. He served six years in the Air Force Reserves.  He has also served on the Mission Ministry Team and as a member of the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church of Houston.

 

Chip Stokes, serves on the Board of Directors.

 

Charles Talbot,serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Talbot is a graduate of Pepperdine University with a Bachelors degree in Business Management.  He is a retired performance management consultant with extensive experience in the implementation of integrated management systems (set policies, write procedures, author handbooks, conduct training, advise/consult with top management in industry and government).  Charles has been a member of Friendswood United Methodist Church since the 1980's.  He has been active in leadership roles including Chairman of Missions, Evangelism, Homeless Rehabilitation, and Restorative Justice; a member of Council of Ministries, administrative boards, Leader Coordinating Committee and Network Council.  Charles has spent time in the mission field, including a medical mission in Bolivia, construction projects in Mexico and Costa Rica.  He also helped in building a 40 foot medical trailer for Tsumni and member of a support group for Hurricane Rita and Katrina.  He has organized an annual horse riding event for disabled and physically challenged people for over twenty years.  Charles is also involved in the local Emmaus community and with KAIROS and Epiphany prison ministries since 1993.  He serves in leadership positions in Epiphany at the national level and in Texas.

 

Sam Wiley, PE, serves on the Board of Directors.  He is a registered, professional, with a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Houston.  He has been consulting and designing air pollution control equipment for the past 45 years.  He is also a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church and the International Advisory Board for the Walk to Emmaus, a ministry of the Upper Room.  Sam has been active in mission work for Christian Alliance in preparation of Medical Clinics for Katrina, Rita and Ike relief, as well as Haiti recovery.  He also led work at the Pearland site for recovery preparation, build out and repair of Medical Clinics and preparation for shipment overseas, as well as repair and upgrading of facilities.
