The Christian Alliance currently operates projects in mission fields or disaster areas with immediate and pressing needs. Recent special projects include:
Hurricane Ike Relief Effort
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike, the Christian Alliance is shipping requested items to areas affected by Ike. The following items are being sent:
- Flood Buckets
- Bleach and other cleaning supplies
- Assorted beverages and water
- Non-perishable foods
- Medical Clinics (as requested)
Donations continue to be accepted for relief needs.
Africa Projects
Christian Alliance continues to work with church mission groups to send containers to Africa. On our property in Pearland we have containers ready to ship to Africa. One container going to Tanzania is filled with school desk, furniture and equipment for a primary school in East Africa. A medical clinic sponsored by Sugar Land United Methodist Church, is going to Providence Children’s Home in Kenya, and a third container filled with farming equipment sponsored by Waller Baptist Church is also going to Kenya.
Haiti
A 40’ shipping container with clothing and medical equipment is ready to be shipped to Haiti. The mission group sponsoring this container needs funds to ship it. If you would like to help with the shipping of this container please make your check payable to Christian Alliance and specify funds to be used for the shipping of container to Haiti.
A "Help Haiti Now Project" is being planned for 2010. As the plan develops and ministry partners join this missionary based effort, we will keep you informed.
Local Food Distribution and Free Medical Clinics
Christian Alliance continues to distribute food to locations in the Greater Houston Area on a semi-monthly basis. Two of these areas are equipped with medical clinics and staffed with medical professional. The free clinic is opened on days that food is distributed. This continues to be a real blessing to residents of the Port Houston and the Third Ward in Houston.
